The New York Times

This is a conceptual website project in which I redesigned The New York Times website as it might appear sometime in the future. I designed this site to be a streamlined, sleeker version of the current version; it is intended to be all-Flash. Users can drag and drop section names into the body area to see the headlines for those sections; the headlines scroll horizontally from right to left in a slow loop. The large photograph in the background, when clicked, enters the foreground and plays video.

Although I made the site white on black (for a more cinematic, futuristic feel inspired by Bladerunner and Shinjuku at night; the banner ads on the right evoke signage.) I deliberately kept the tagline "All the News That's Fit to Print" at the top (which I reworked) as well as the classic Times typefaces (Bookman Antique, Cheltenham, Franklin Gothic, etc.) to preserve the branding and history of the paper.
